About us

Our Story

Kensho is a Japanese term which translates to 'seeing one's true nature' and we have adopted this philosophy into our brand by seeing nature's true potential.

We use a special technique called 'Eco-printing', where real leaves, flowers and natural dyes are used to print on fabrics. Each and every product is carefully handcrafted keeping sustainability at core.

Started by a group of students as a project for a university fest in India in 2019, Kensho became a journey towards sustainability. While the idea of slow living boomed in 2018, we experienced it in our childhood at our homes through our culture, growing up in a South-Asian household. Through the pioneer of ecoprinting, India Flint, we learned the technique and the intricacies of it. Thus, Kensho became a medium for us to take sustainability to the world. Our aim was to create one-of-a-kind pieces, create awareness about sustainable fashion practices by adopting them while connecting them with nature.

But as covid hit, Kensho took a pause before starting again in 2022. We launched at 'London Represents' during London Fashion Week. Since then, Kensho has been presenting at various well known markets in and around London including, Portobello, Greenwich and Leadenhall. Since the launch Kensho has won 12 local and regional awards at the Young Traders Market Competition organised by the NMTF, reaching the National Finals thrice in a row. Kensho has also been a finalist at the Drapers Conscious Fashion Awards 2025 for the 'Ones to Watch' category.

Our aim is to create awareness about sustainable fashion practices by making eco-conscious choices while also connecting people to nature.
